Holiday snapshots: very merry

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

This year was so fun with little B since he's is old enough to know that something exciting is happening and it's so incredibly cute!

In addition to a few holiday races, we also enjoyed Christmas festivities around town, including a performance of The Nutcracker and the Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade. Plus I managed to bake some cookies (using the cake box mix shortcut!) and all the presents were wrapped in time (whew!).

This was the first year since we moved away from Pennsylvania that we didn't go home for Christmas, which was nice since we were home with our tree and the dogs, but I also missed family, friends, and downtown Lancaster Christmas festivities. It just doesn't feel quite like Christmas when it's 80 degrees and you're at the beach!

Sadly, by the time Christmas arrived, we were short a family member since we lost our sweet pitbull-mix, Stella Blue, right after Thanksgiving. It's always incredibly hard to lose a pet, but around the holidays made it especially tough for us. But seeing B's little eyes light up at the Christmas tree ("chtee! chtee!") and all the sparkling lights made things just a little bit brighter.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fun!

I hope everyone had a joyous holiday season filled with family, friends, and too many cookies and egg nog! Cheers to a bright new year!
