Weekly Recap: Training Reboot Week 20 (8/6-8/12)
The In Between
This week was one of those meh weeks. The ones between two slightly more exciting weeks, where I just got things done and got ready for the coming week.
But first, in case you missed it, I posted my revised racing plan for Fall 2018.
So about my week...
We're heading to Lancaster, Pa. for two weeks, so I wanted to make sure everything was ready to go there. And I had a pretty busy week with work and freelance life as well.
I also wasn't thinking about my running schedule and missed a run, thinking I'd be able to make it up. But since our travel day is Sunday, that left me a day short and no time to make up the run. This is what happens when my brain is too full.
And it's definitely been too full these past few weeks. I'm working on getting my brain space cleared out by taking a break from some of the things that have been keeping me so busy. We're heading into the busiest time of year plus I'm going to be training for a half marathon (and possibly a full marathon after that), and I want to be able to focus and not feel schedule tension.
I must get in 4 (hopefully 5) runs regularly in the fall plus I need to keep up with F45, and I'd like to add in Orange Theory and yoga once a week. That doesn't leave me a lot of wiggle room for other things during this training season.
Workout Summary

I also had to cut my long run short because I got caught in a thunderstorm. I don't mind rain, but I don't really want to run in thunder and lightning, especially by the water.
So I didn't have the greatest week as far as running. My mileage was terribly low and I missed a day. But weeks like that happen. Better now than in the fall.
In non-running news, I took a few pictures of another dog for a local rescue organization. I'm definitely enjoying being back into pet photography, and have been working behind the scenes to get that business up and running (I have plans for 2019 and I'm hoping to take the rest of this year to solidify them).
I'm excited to be heading to Lancaster for the next two weeks. I'll be working the first week, but the second week is complete vacation from the day job and freelance work. It's definitely nice to have a remote job (and a freelance life) where I can work from anywhere so we can extend our time when we come home to be able to see more people and do more things.
We're at an AirBnB right downtown in our old stomping grounds and the gang's all here, including the dogs. It's also so nice to be in a city again where everything is within walking distance (and I brought my new camera, so I'm hoping to have some solid picture-taking time, too). I'm sure I'll be getting lots of walking miles these next two weeks and my FitBit will be pleased with me!
How was your week? What are you currently training for?
