A Typology of Lampwork Beads
In addition to wrapping up and presenting my thesis project this semester (finally!), I've also been taking a photography class as my final graduate liberal arts requirement (so I guess I can cross off #26 from the 35 Before 35 list).
One of my favorite projects so far has been the typology assignment. In brief, a typology is several photographs of similar items that are photographed in such a way as to show their family resemblance and essential form. So, shape and structured are emphasized by keeping the scale, framing, light, and focus unified.
Being the lampwork bead lover that I am, I couldn't resist doing my assignment using these lovely beads. Presenting, my lampwork bead typology:
