Weekly Recap: Say "Hi" to Willow Rose (2/4-2/10)
We are officially those crazy people who drive hundreds of miles to adopt a dog. This past weekend, we made a 36 hour (total) journey to and from Wilmington, Delaware to adopt a sweet, senior beagle girl named Willow Rose.
This little dog lived in a cage her whole life and has clearly never really known the love of a family outside of her foster mama’s home. It’s sad and infuriating that people do things that break a dog’s spirit, but I’m glad she’s finally safe and I’m thankful for the rescue group that took her in and got her ready for adoption.
Other than our quick trip to Wilmington and adopting our new family member, things were rather uneventful around here. I sketched, I ran (and enjoyed my regular salt water views), I went to Orangetheory, I worked, I posted one other blog post. Pretty typical week.
WORKOUT SUMMARY
We drove up to Wilmington on Friday and came home on Saturday, which left us Sunday to hang out with our new pup and show her around a few places in her new hometown. We took her to the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, which has tons of pet friendly shops. In typical beagle fashion, she went for a “sniff and pee” (known to other dogs as “walks”).
While we were at the Towne Centre, we stopped by Hairy Winston to pick up some treats and a new collar for Willow, then we headed over to GameStop. My son is obsessed with Super Mario, so we picked up another game for him. And after that, we headed to brunch at The Rusty Rudder. Willow approved. I can’t wait to show this girl all of the fun things about living by the beach!
How was your week?
