35 before 35: #16 - Organize a fundraiser for an arts or animal cause

I did this one in the fall of 2012 in conjunction with some of my running goals, including a 10K and half marathon, and culminating with my first marathon. My charity was Family Addition Dog Rescue (the same place where we found Autumn) and I set up my Racing for the Rescues fundraiser through Crowdrise. It was such a rewarding experience and I really appreciated the support and enthusiasm my friends and family had for both me and the rescue I raised funds for. And I know every penny helped out Family Addition in a big way, so I'm forever grateful to every person who donated to help save innocent animals like Autumn.

This is something I'd love to do again when I finally decide it's time to tackle another marathon, which may be next fall depending on how this next training season goes. But I want to be better prepared this time, unlike last time when I ran my very first marathon after only about five months of running. Hey, when I jump in, I really jump in.

35 Before 35 is a list of 35 goals I want to accomplish before I hit 35 in August 2014. Some of them are big things, some small, but all of them are things I really want to do, and what better time to do them than now?
