Nursery Inspirations: Blue, Beach, and Beagles

I finally started thinking about how I want to decorate my little boy's nursery. After the shock of having a boy wore off  (for some reason I thought it was impossible that I wouldn't be having a girl, despite a 50 percent chance to the contrary), I started putting aside all of my gilded gold and Radiant Orchid ideas and started thinking of something a little more boy appropriate.

I knew I didn't want it to be some crazy theme or overly masculine, but I also wanted to fill the room with things that mean something to me and D. We already had the room painted a pale seafoam green, but beyond that I was stuck. Then I started thinking, why not fill the room with beagles (and a painting of our honorary beagle, Stella Blue) and beach inspirations? I chose a mix of furniture in different rustic finishes to also mimic our love of the outdoors. And I think I like it. Time to start shopping and get decorating!
