35 Before 35: #1 Move out of PA
You may (or may not) have noticed that little
35 Before 35 link up in the navigation of my blog. In case you haven't, here's the deal: it's a list of 35 things I want to do before I turn 35. I created it when I was 32, so I didn't really give myself much time to get this stuff done. It's a good thing I work well under pressure. But I've even surprised myself and have been knocking things out like crazy, and a lot of the biggest things on my list are finished. And I figured it was about time I started talking about it on my blog since I've got less than a year to wrap it all up. So here we go. Let's take it from the top - one accomplishment, one post at a time.
#1 - Move out of PA
I knocked this one out in the summer of 2012 when I moved to Charlotte. And to be honest, this was one that I had serious doubts of ever happening because it was something I had wanted to do for so long, but things just never worked out. When things finally did fall into place, and the number one thing on my list was also one of the first things I did, that just kick-started me into action. And since then, I was able to accomplish a lot more of the things on my list that I wasn't sure I'd be able to do. It's amazing what a change in scenery can do for your soul.
In the past year, I've thoroughly enjoyed life in The Queen City. I've met some fantastic people, run a lot of races, had the opportunity to volunteer with a wonderful rescue organization, and acquired (yet another) beagle (I can't help myself, they are so freaking adorable).
And while I'm sad to be leaving the life I've built in just a short year's time, I'm excited to see what's next in my new city of Charleston, South Carolina (hint, hint: it involves crossing a few other big ones off the list).
