Weekly recaps (10/31-11/13): Um...yeah

KIAWAH HALF TRAINING WEEKS 5 & 6

Another two weeks just flew right by. And I'm not even sure which way is up (or forward or backward) right now. In the past two weeks I've transferred to a new company via an acquisition (I knew this was coming, but it was still a bit nutty), gone on vacation to Disney World, and survived the most insane election I've ever experienced. (And obviously, I'm still having issues keeping up with my blog.)

The company acquisition resulted in a ton of layoffs, which we had no idea were coming until one hour into day one at the the new company. I still have a job, but when you see something like that, it's hard not to wonder if you're next. Good times. Not stressful at all.

Vacation was awesome but exhausting since we were only there for a few days and it was to run two races, which meant we got very little sleep. And I came home with yet another sinus infection.

So anyway, clearly the highlight of my past two weeks was my trip to Disney. I went with one of my good friends from Pennsylvania and we had a fun girls weekend running races, shopping, eating, and going to Epcot. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but also nice to get away for a bit.

But despite the fun, all of the activity (miles and miles and miles of walking every single day plus two races) left me exhausted, especially since I was getting sick (again). But we still had an awesome time! I ran both races with my friend and helped pace her to hit her goals. I'll save the details for my race recap posts.

I came home from Disney sick, achy, and with weird stomach issues. Just all around feeling blah. I'm sure the anxiety I've been dealing with is also part of the reason for the blah feeling along with the random aches and pains.

I actually wore capri pants to run instead of shorts! It's fall!

I actually wore capri pants to run instead of shorts! It's fall!

The good news is, I think fall finally arrived here in Charleston. The weather has been gorgeous - nice and chilly. I don't remember it being like this last year (it was humid and warm all the way through winter), so maybe this year we'll actually get fall and winter instead of suffering with humidity all year.

I don't have much else to say about these past two weeks. I've been in a fog. I'm still in a fog. And I'm ready for 2016 to get the heck out of here. It's been one of the worst, most stressful years of my life and it's certainly worn out its welcome.

I'm linking up with HoHoRuns and MissSippi Piddlin'  for their Weekly Wrap post. You can check out all of this week's posts here.
